What to Watch...

Recently, I watched the movie The Great Gatsby PG 13, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire. The story is about a man named Nick living in Long Island. He makes a modest living working with bonds, and lives nearby his enthralling cousin Daisy. Daisy is loved by all, and irresistibly beautiful.
Daisy and her husband Tom are extremely wealthy with one child. The story begins with Nick Carraway moving right next to his secretive neighbor who he hears goes by the name of Gastby. The story progresses with romance, death, lies and secrets. It is a tragedy and a romance all packed into one. The director Baz Luhrmann does a great job at making the characters seem deep, and at giving you mystery but solving it all. Though the ending is unsatisfying, it’s brilliantly crafted. I found myself in tears by the end wanting certain characters to change their minds, or save someone else. For those of you who aren’t familiar with The Great Gatsby, the movie is based on the novel, which is considered a classic in American Literature. The movie is NOT appropriate for anyone under 13. |
Hannah Montana is one of the best shows on Disney channel. It is full of romance, secrets, jokes, and family. The show is about Miley Stewart, a normal LA girl. But her secret is, she is actually a huge pop star. She lives a double life to stay a normal teen, but wants the fame and fun of being a singer. She shares her secret with her loved ones, and the ones that need to know.
I highly suggest this show for people of all ages, because being a 13 year old, I love this show just as much as I did when I was 6. The show may seem juvenile, but it really is quality television. The music is great, and her songs are super catchy, and the show makes you really feel strongly about the characters. I recommend this show for people of all ages. |
