Talking About the Knicks this Season

Even though their record is 5-7, in the lower part of Chelsea, Manhattan, is Madison Square Garden. Home to one of the greatest teams and franchises in NBA history, The New York Knickerbockers (Knicks). Sure, the retro players on this squad, Patrick Ewing, John Starks, Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, Charles Oakley and Bernard King; But the Team is new and improved this season. Some of the new people such as Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah, veterans from the Chicago bulls, Brandon Jennings, a veteran from the Detroit Pistons, Ron Baker, the rookie from Wichita State University, and Lance Thomas, the rookie from Duke University. Some of the rookies from last season like Kristaps Porzingis have improved in the offseason to prepare themselves for what’s ahead. Carmelo Anthony, A long veteran on the Knicks along with a team of unpredictable players are ready to take on this 2016-2017 season.
Speaking of unpredictable the Knicks Power Forward, Kristaps Porzingis, a rookie last year from Latvia, set a career high on November 16th, 2016 with a total of 35 points and winning the game while being player of the game. From the CBS Sports site, it quoted that Derrick Rose said, “He's out here scoring 30 and he doesn't really know the NBA yet. It's scary.” He’s saying that he’s only been here for one year and he might be a big factor in the future. Today I got to catch up with Bank Street's gym teacher, Ricky Forde and his thoughts on the Knicks this season. He says that, “The Knicks have a lot of potential this season as a team.” He says that they have a chance in making the playoffs this year, but he’s not sure that they’re elite enough to make it to the championship. He says that they will do great this season and in the playoffs. He says that Kristaps Porzingis is their hottest player so far. He says that, “Once he learns about the game of basketball and develop a skill set, he will go down as one of the NBA’s All Time Greats.
