Bank Street B-Ball Recruits 5th Graders by Mira, 421
One of the perks of coming into the upper school is being able to play on its sports teams. For the fifth graders this is a new and exciting experience for them and today you can hear what they are saying about the basketball season. The fall sports were Soccer or Running Club and while they really enjoyed their experience on those teams -- with some students competing for the first time in their lives -- they are looking forward for what is to come this winter. We interviewed three students. They talked about their feelings about this upcoming season, and how they feel going into a team filled with 11/12’s. In Dawna and Jessica’s 10/11’s, Blake and Miles shared with us that they are, “hoping for a good outcome this season”. We asked them how they are feeling about joining a team filled with older students and all of them seem to be okay with this. Blake and Miles said, “we have already been on the soccer team so we know the kids already, and because of this, we are not really nervous about the basketball team.” Lela from Ryan and Pria’s class says, “everyone at Bank Street is really friendly, so I am looking forward for it.” She also said, “I am excited improve.” Sports are a great place to make new friends, create new experiences and enjoy the rewards of being active. The fifth graders seem to be taking advantage of these opportunities. We cannot wait to see what this season is going to bring and Bank Street Live will keep you updated, so stay connected and we will get back to you soon!
